Our cattle roam and survive in the hill country of Rimunui Station on the East Coast of New Zealand, with the wild blue waters of the Pacific Ocean lapping at our doorstep. We breed them hardy and strong; gentle giants with temperament to boot. Theyâre a type of cattle that have been carefully refined by more than 60 years of breeding by the Williams family.
The 340 stud cows are run alongside Romney and Perendale ewes and theyâre the workhorses of the station, nothing gets a free ride at Kaharau.
Fifty bulls are sold annually in June and theyâre highly sought after. The Kaharau bull has a meaty, full bodied rear and a strong head and jaw that sets him apart from his peers. Heâs a survivor, a champion, and his progeny follow in his well crafted footsteps.
Kaharau is renowned for both quality and performance in Angus cattle, both here in New Zealand and on the World stage. There are in fact few herds in New Zealand that Kaharau has not influenced over the years.
