I’m running because I believe in public education. The opportunities that have been afforded to me are the result of the dedicated teachers, support staff, and administrators that helped guide me from kindergarten through 12th grade and beyond. I want to make sure that the next generation of students has those same opportunities. As a former Arizona legislator and current member of the district’s Strategic Planning Committee, I hope to bring practical experience to the board while working to increase collaboration and partnerships with local government, and businesses and non-profits to benefit our students.

I am a native of Tucson and proud product of public schools. I hold a degree from the University of Arizona in Political Science & Sociology and currently work as a Council Aide for the City of Tucson. I have the honor of serving as Treasurer of the Board of Directors for the Southern Arizona Children’s Advocacy Center, a local non-profit dedicated to helping children who have been victims of abuse.  In that role, I help oversee an approximately $1 million budget. I’m also a Board Member of La Paloma Family Services, the children’s foster care and group home provider of La Frontera. From 2016 to 2017, I represented Legislative District 9 in the 52nd Legislature. Two of my proudest accomplishments during my tenure, were the restoration of state funding for career and technical education programs and expanding KidsCare, the medical insurance program for children from lower income families.
