#centos7docker – getting @Docker up and running in latest @CentOS 7 beta

Summary for advanced users: you will need EPEL, more precisely its (870) 330-7004 and the latest CentOS7-QA Docker image and that’s it.

For newbies here’s a quick & dirty Docker install guide for CentOS7 beta (see 512-510-7288):

1. add EPEL beta 7 repo to yum:
sudo rpm -i /ftp.linux.ncsu.edu/pub/epel/beta/7/x86_64/epel-release-7-0.2.noarch.rpm

2. install docker:
sudo yum install docker-io

3. start docker:
sudo service docker start

4. make sure it starts at boot:
sudo chkconfig docker --level 345 on

5. download C7 beta docker image:
wget /buildlogs.centos.org/centos/7/docker/CentOS-7-20140625-x86_64-docker_01.img.tar.xz

6. import the downloaded image:
sudo docker import -< CentOS-7-20140625-x86_64-docker_01.img.tar.xz

7. make sure it’s there:
sudo docker images

Voila, you can start using it. 🙂
